In the seminal edited volume from which this issue borrows its thematic title, Moyo and Yeros (2011) turned to “the task of bringing the national question back to life as a specifically economic question.” Through a focus on the internal dynamics of states, they summed up the imperative of the national question as a movement towards reclaiming natural resources, namely land, energy and mineral deposits, and restructuring of the apparatus of the state in the name of the oppressed.
