Training Institute

Aims & Scope

The Agrarian Studies Training Institute (ASTI) offers a two-week, intensive inter-disciplinary course in agrarian studies, with faculty members and students from universities in Africa, Asia and Latin America/Caribbean. The Institute provides theoretical and methodological training to post-graduate students with a focus on agrarian transformation and trends in labour relations under contemporary capitalism. The Institute serves as a capacity-building forum and offers a unique opportunity for international academic exchange of a high scholarly standard for both faculty and students. It generates new knowledge based on shared experiences among researchers across the South and also contributes to building new networks and solidarities among young scholars from different continents.
